Weekly Updates

October 15th

School Uniform Reminder
During the day, some parts of our building can get a little chilly for short sleeves. With this in mind, students are encouraged to wear the following over their white polo: school issued fleece jacket, school issued blue sweatshirt, or navy cardigans/sweaters. In addition, students may now also wear O’Gorman sweatshirts/zip-ups. ALL other sweatshirts, coats, and sweaters are not allowed.

Cold Weather
The cold weather is approaching! Please remember that it is much colder at SKD because we don’t have much to block us from the wind. With that in mind, we are asking that you start sending the students to school with hats, gloves/mittens and coats. We expect children to be prepared for all weather, as students will go outside daily if possible.
It is very helpful if you write your child’s name on all clothing including fleece jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, and coats. The Lost and Found is growing by the day!

Peer Relations Survey
This past week, students in 4th-6th grade took the Peer Relations Survey during their classroom counseling lesson. This is a survey given district-wide to gauge how students are getting along with their peers and to identify areas of improvement in promoting positive peer relations. The results of the survey provides useful data on how comfortable students feel at school, what their reaction is if/when they see a bullying situation, and how comfortable they feel reporting those situations. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions regarding the peer relations survey at St. Katharine Drexel, please contact Mrs. Charron or Mrs. Mack, school counselor.

Conferences will be held Tuesday, October 19 for Preschool and Wednesday, October 20 for Preschool-6th Grade. Students will be bringing home a conference time confirmation slip today. Thank you for taking time to meet with your child’s teacher and being part of this educational partnership. There will be NO SCHOOL October 20-22.
